Make it a family tradition to experience the magic of Christmas at Memory Lane Farm! Step into the story of the Nativity with live animals, engaging actors, and the sights, sounds, and smells that bring Bethlehem to life. This unique event is perfect for all ages, featuring a live Nativity, a walk through Bethlehem’s vibrant marketplace, a petting zoo, children’s crafts, local artisan goods at our mercantile, outdoor blacksmith and activities, and more! Light refreshments will be provided.
 

Donations are welcome as we invite you to support Memory Lane Farm’s Mentoring Program.  Your contribution helps us continue our mission of serving vulnerable children, providing them with hope, healing and guidance they need.

Volunteering

Volunteers are a critical part of the success of this event and we invite you to be part of the experience! 

We have a variety of roles available to fit your interests and talents. Some areas where we need assistance include:

  • Bethlehem Market Cast
    Step into the role of a Bethlehem villager and guide guests through traditional crafts such as pottery, basket weaving, and carpentry. No prior experience is necessary—just a love for history and creativity!

     

  • Parking and Hospitality Team
    Be the first friendly face our guests meet! Assist with parking, greet attendees, and help ensure they have all the information they need for a great experience.

     

  • Outdoor Activities
    Enjoy assisting children cut wood for branding, partake in the blacksmith shop and much more!

     

  • Kids Crafts 
    Engage with children and families through hands-on activities like ornament making, storytelling, or leading traditional games. Bring your enthusiasm and holiday spirit!

The event features live animals, volunteers in traditional attire, and market stalls where guests can observe artisans working on crafts such as pottery, textiles, and carpentry. There will also be opportunities to participate in activities, hear Christmas stories, and enjoy the beautiful, festive farm atmosphere.

Christmas in the Barn takes place at 8638 Heritage Drive, Marshfield, WI 54449.
 

Where do we park?

Free parking is available onsite at Memory Lane Farm. Upon arrival, volunteers will guide you to the designated parking area. Accessible parking is also available for those with mobility needs. The entry is located at the farm (one-way entry), with the exit located next door.
 

Is pre-registration required?

No, pre-registration is not required for this event. However, we encourage early arrival, as it is a popular community event and space can fill up quickly.
 

Is there a fee to attend?

There is no admission fee to attend Christmas in the Barn. Instead of charging for entry, we welcome donations to support Memory Lane Farm’s Mentoring Program and other program expenses. Your generosity helps us continue to offer these valuable services to youth in our community and helps provide much-needed support for our equine and other farm animals. 
 

Monetary donation boxes will be available onsite.  Donations via check may also be sent directly to the Memory Lane Farm or made online at your convenience. All donations are tax-deductible.

What is the Mercantile?

The Mercantile is a special part of Christmas in the Barn, offering a selection of handcrafted items, seasonal goods, farm merch and other unique gifts. Visitors can browse and purchase these items, with a portion of the proceeds going to support the programs at Memory Lane Farm. It's the perfect place to find meaningful, locally-made Christmas gifts while contributing to a good cause. A Giving Tree will also be available to help support the specific needs of the farm.

Memory Lane Farm, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides farm-based, hands-on experiences that empower, encourage, and equip children, teens and adults, including those facing challenging life situations. Through mentoring programs, summer camps, and special events, we use agriculture, animals, and creative activities to nurture growth, build relationships, and foster resilience.
